Based on English band Pink Floyd’s 11th studio album of the same name, ‘The Wall’ was directed by Alan Parker (Midnight Express, Fame) and features a mix of live-action scenes and animation sequences designed by famous English cartoonist and illustrator Gerald Scarfe. The band and Scarfe had already worked together on the album packaging and promotion as well as the stage designs for the subsequent tour.
Scarfe also designed and illustrated this poster and the hand drawn typography is unmistakably his. AÂ definitive making of book was released last year and I definitely intend to pick up a copy ASAP.
